In 'The One Where the Monkey Gets Away', Rachel unwittingly releases Ross' beloved pet monkey into the wilds of the big city. 'The One with the Evil Orthodontist' finds Rachel suffering another self-inflicted trauma when she resumes relations with her ex-fiancé - who happens to be engaged to her best friend Mindy. In 'The One with the Fake Monica', the rather prim Monica is liberated by a new free-wheeling friend, whilst Ross' monkey also starts acting in a 'perkier' manner. 'The One with the Ick Factor' sees Ross' ex-wife go into labour, whilst Monica makes an unwelcome discovery about her new boyfriend. Ross' child is born in 'The One With the Birth', and in 'The One Where Rachel Finds Out', Rachel realises Ross wants to be more than just friends.
